The "Gdańsk Time Capsule" project is currently in the organizational and technical preparation phase. We are gathering funds and assembling equipment so that we will soon be able to record the priceless memories of Gdańsk seniors free of charge.
We live in an era of unprecedented change. Our patients are eyewitnesses to political, social, and technological transformations that the world has never seen before. In the face of such rapid changes, securing the unique stories, wisdom, and identity of this generation in an authentic form becomes fundamental.
Our project is a mobile system for archiving memories. Upon invitation, Foundation volunteers will visit Gdańsk seniors in their homes, neighborhood houses, community clubs, and during city events, to record and edit videos featuring a message for their loved ones completely free of charge—a kind of "letter to the future".
To eliminate digital exclusion and the issue of limited mobility, we travel with professional equipment directly to the indicated recording location, and we will also be present at popular district festivals.
Interviews and memories are properly archived. We create digital video keepsakes that will become an intergenerational bridge and a valuable heritage for grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Recording memories is not just documentation—it is also an opportunity for a deep conversation, an attentive presence with another human being, and easing loneliness. Our trained volunteers know how to listen with full empathy and respect.
We extend our invitation to residents of Gdańsk (generation 60+) who, as eyewitnesses to the turbulent 20th century, want to save their unique fates, personal experiences, and life wisdom from oblivion. The Gdańsk Time Capsule is an apolitical and ideologically neutral space. Our mission is to build intergenerational bridges, which is why all recordings are subject to strict moderation based on applicable law, linguistic culture, and principles of social coexistence. The Foundation categorically refrains from publishing materials containing hate speech, profanity, personal attacks, or party and religious agitation. We focus on what is enduring and valuable in a person for future generations, leaving current disputes outside the scope of this archive.
No. The entire service—travel, recording, professional editing, and archiving of the material—is carried out by Foundation volunteers 100% free of charge, as part of our public benefit activities.
The collected accounts and "letters to the future" – of course, only after obtaining the senior's consent – will be placed on a publicly accessible platform, including our official YouTube channel, serving as a virtual museum of oral history.
We are currently finalizing financial, equipment, and formal/training matters. When the project officially launches, we will activate a dedicated phone number and a simple form through which you can register yourself or a loved one. Follow our profiles on social media!
Ultimately, that is where we will publish all recorded, edited, and authorized "letters to the future." Subscribe to the channel today so you don't miss the premiere of our materials.
