About the "Ostatnia Warta" Foundation

We build presence where it is needed most

There are moments when everything else ceases to matter. Diagnoses, procedures, the rush of the world.
Only one question remains: is someone here with me?

The "Ostatnia Warta" Foundation was created precisely for these moments.

We accompany the seriously ill and dying in hospices, hospitals, and private homes. We sit by the bed. We talk. Sometimes we are silent. Sometimes we are simply present — for an hour, for a night, for as long as needed.

We are not medical staff. We do not provide therapy.
We offer presence.

How we started

From a need that brings no peace.

During a time when the world closed itself in isolation, we saw something very simple and very difficult at the same time — how many people pass away alone. Without a conversation. Without someone's hand to hold. Without another human being by their side.

What began as a quiet impulse of the heart eventually turned into action. And in February 2026 — into the "Ostatnia Warta" Foundation.

What we believe in

We believe that humanity is not measured by what we possess. It is measured by whether we can be there for another person when it is hardest.

We do not seek grand words. We do not build distance.
We build presence.

In a world that is speeding up, we stop by a person's bed. In a world full of noise — we choose silence that brings comfort. In a world full of rush — we choose time for another human being.

We build presence.

Why "Ostatnia Warta" (The Last Watch)

Because there are moments when someone has to stay.

When the night falls. When conversations fade. When only fear, pain, and uncertainty remain.
That is when our Watch begins.

We stand by a person not to fix anything. Not to change anything.
But simply to be.
And sometimes, that is the most important thing you can give someone.

In the end, one thing remains

You do not remember procedures. You do not remember the names of medications.
You remember the presence.

A quiet voice. A calm conversation. Someone's hand nearby.

That is why we are here.
So that in the most difficult moment — no one is alone.

Not everyone can be at a patient's bedside. But everyone can help ensure someone is there.
